The approach focuses on the child as a whole and, through achievable goals, aims to increase a child’s self-esteem and confidence. Our Forest School activities focus on new knowledge and skills which can be demonstrated and then applied independently by children.
Children look forward to working outdoors and using tools which they may never have used before. Team work is an integral part of Forest Schools as is the use of play to develop children’s social skills with peers.
Leadership and listening skills are encouraged through carefully organised sessions so children feel safe in a new environment.
We know that children learn through multiple intelligences and we wish to ensure every child is able to experience success through many different activities.
Our hope is that skills learnt can be applied not only in school but outside of it as well.
We like to go out in all weathers, so we all say COME RAIN OR SHINE, IT’S FOREST SCHOOL TIME.
